Shiny Things

If you read yesterdays thing, you may have gotten the impression that I think I have all the answers. I don't. I make more mistakes than I can count. Here's a short list.

I'm in debt from COVID and some bad investments.

I've been sued before

I'm bad at gift-giving

I don't call my family as much as I should

My lack of focus on any one thing has held me back. A lot.

I have several deep personal flaws.

The point is, I'm not perfect. Nobody's perfect. Like my musings? Try it. Don't like it? The unsubscribe button below is on every email.

The monk Shunryu Suzuki said "In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert's, there are few." I don't know about you, but I'm like a deep sea fish when it comes to ideas and opportunities. I go after the shiny things. And there are a lot of shiny things out there.

The point I'm trying to make, is that ALL expertise (good or bad) is earned. Failing forward and leaning from your mistakes means ADMITTING to yourself they're mistakes.

Then forgiving yourself.

Then moving on.

To the next mistake.

Don't miss new learning because you're so busy trying to convince the world you know everything.
